Here is our process overview
Thank you for your interest in joining AVSAR! New AVSAR members begin on our 3-Season Team. Applications for our Winter Below Treeline and Winter Above Treeline Teams require other skills and involve a separate process.
Applications are collected and reviewed for completeness during a set period (in the spring). Applicants are chosen based on the strength of their application, availability, references, and the needs of the team.
That said, to join the organization, start here. You will need to first review our Applicant Conditions to learn if you qualify. You will then need to review our Applicant Expectations describing the reality of SAR.
Important Note: Submission deadline for the current year is April 15th and we will not reach out to you until shortly thereafter. If applying after that date don’t expect a response until the following year.
